About Me

Hello my name is India Scandrick and welcome to my website. Unlike most girls my age, I have been professionally working since the age of 9. I was casted in a television show called Great by Eight. I was hired by Dream Works to do a biblical dvd series and costarred in a Life Time Movie.  By 12 I begin my journey as a pioneer for change.  I was the first African Amercian Female from the state of Georgia to ever go to broadway in a leading role.  While working for Disney on Broadway as Nala in the Musical The Lion King.  I joined a service organization called Broadway Kids.  During those 13 months on broadway I participated with broadway kids by knitting scarfs and making gifts for under priviledged kids.  This experience changed my life. I felt good knowing that I could make a difference in other childrens life by just giving of my talents.  After complelting my contract on broadway I returned home to Atlanta where I wanted to continue my acts of service.  So with the help of my mom I created a non profit service organization called Kool2bu.

I’ve traveled all around the world speaking at , camps, youth music festival and YMCA’s encouraging kids to be smart, be kool, be strong, and be independent. Because of my acting accomplishments on Broadway in Disney’s The Lion King and on networks such as: TBS, Disney Channel, Cartoon Network and Lifetime, I am able to visit schools on their career days and red ribbon weeks.  My organization has helped me touch thousands of kids.  I have encouraged and opened the doors for other child stars to join me in my efforts. Ive never once asked myself why do I love traveling and speaking to kids,  or how does it benefit me. The truth is each time I give of myself to these kids  I feel more and more obligated and passionate about helping to inspire others.  I do benefit from it, there is no better feeling than having other kids love and look up to you .

From 2003 to 2008 I used my musical talent and volunteered as the church drummer at New Mount Calvary Church in Morrow, Ga.  Presently I have started my own dance School I teach a hip hop dance class at Broadway Performing Arts center. I am a role model for a lot of young girls and I have accepted the responsibility that comes along with it.

In the 7th grade I had to be pulled out of my private school and move to New York City to live out my dream on Broadway, because of this I have been home schooled ever since. Being home schooled had changed my social life a bit but increased my learning ability and time management skills. My Home school program is called Veritas the students go every Monday receive their work, take tests, and leave with their schoolwork to be completed on their own time throughout the week. Being in this program for 5 years now has taught me how to be responsible and finish my work on time, because there is no late work policy with my teachers. I would say I am a scholar because I am devoted to be a life long student, I will never stop wanting to learn, and if I am not a scholar now I can promise you I will be before I am not able to learn any more.
